Rhianna’s Anniversary
In less than two months it will be Rhianna’s Anniversary and it is a strange feeling.
It has been really hard to work out what to do.
We want to do something, she is our little girl, she is Baba’s sister and we want to celebrate her first anniversary. But to be honest we are not really sure how. It is going to be a really hard day, it will be a sad day a really sad day. But we also have a four-year old who wants to do something for his little sister.
We have thought of lots of different things, we will be going to her grave that is a certainty, and flowers will be put up there, and I am sure there will be flowers from everyone in the family up there. But we don’t want it to just be the same as all the other times that we go up there. So we have been thinking of a few different ideas, we will be getting a cake and letting off a couple of balloons, as Baba loves this, and he wants to do something for her too. He has really cottoned on to this idea of sending her a balloon, and he gets so much enjoyment from doing it as he really believes that Rhianna gets the balloons, and that is enough for me and Mr L.
Baba has been making a lot of noises about not having a picture of Rhianna in his bedroom, so I am working on a very special framed page for him, that is just for him and his sister with a picture of her and some very special words for the two of them. I need to give something on Rhianna’s anniversary, as it isn’t just her anniversary it is her birthday too and I think that this is the perfect thing to do at the moment. It will be a special thing for Baba, and to be honest what is more special than a picture of his gorgeous sister that has been made by Mummy!
We have also had another idea, we have been going around and asking a few friends and family to write a post for this blog about Rhianna, about how it has been for them, how she affected them, what it has been like supporting us and what the year has been like for them too. We want to make this blog into a book for Baba, for him to read everything about Rhianna and to keep all the feelings and thoughts in one place and we would love to add all of those thoughts and feelings from friends, family and his godparents into the book. We both think this will be really important for him. (If anyone wants to do this and we have forgotten to ask anyone please do not take it personally, but please do feel free to contact us to be included in the posts.)
One of our friends has suggested a really simple and brilliant idea for everyone to remember Rhianna on her anniversary and that is for everyone to buy some lilies and put them in their houses. We have lots of pictures of candles for her scrapbook album, and it would be great to have a selection of lilies for her anniversary pictures. I personally love this idea and love that lilies are so important to so many people now because they remind them of Rhianna Lily.
So I think we have a few ideas, but we are certainly open to other ideas that people may think off for us to do on her special day.
