I see you,

I see you watching me,

When you know I am not ok.

Watching me holding back the tears.

Watching me from the side.

Watching me breathe through the pain.

I see you,

Watching me hold back the heart ache.

I see you,

So much wiser than your years, looking out for me.

I see you,

Silent, but watching and keeping an eye.

I see you,

Watching me, checking on me, looking after me.

And I couldn’t be prouder of the person you’re growing up to be.

And I am so thankful for you.

You don’t interupt the tears,

You don’t try to heal the pain,

You don’t ask for an explanation,

You don’t try to talk, or solve.

You just watch,

You take note,

You understand,
