Rhianna Lily’s Place
Rhianna Lily has lots of places, basically where ever we go she goes as she is always in our thoughts and our hearts. We also have her garden and now we have a little place in our house as well.
When she died Baba’s and she would have been Rhianna’s godmother decided that she wanted to buy Baba something so she got him a specially designed bear, that was his Rhianna Lily bear. She had a little jumper made for the teddy bear and got Rhianna Lily’s name on the jumper. Instantly when Baba saw it he loved it we all did if I am totally honest.
We all knew that it was a really treasured item and no one wanted anything awful to happen to it so it was placed up high on Mr L’s granddad’s units, probably the most treasured piece of furniture we own it seemed the right place to put it in the kitchen in the heart of our house.
It was perfect there and we all loved it, we could get it down when we wanted but it was always looking over everything that we did!
Last week we were shopping and found a beautiful candle holder saying “Thinking of You” it wasn’t massive and it was just perfect in a beautiful pink colour with some lovely flowers on it and a heart cut out either side of the holder. I decided straight away to buy five of them, one for our house, my mum and dads, my MIL and FIL’s, my sister and my sister-in-law. I wanted us all to have the same in our houses, something for us all to remember Rhianna by.
Later in the day my niece and I found some lovely pink candles to put in the holder and Rhianna’s little memory candles were all ready.
I explained to Baba that we were all going to have these candles so when we thought of Rhianna we would light them and then she would know that we were thinking of her. He really latched onto this and loved that everyone was getting the same candle and holder. I think it is really important that Baba sees that Rhianna is a part of all of our lives all these people are so important to them he loves them all dearly and he needs to see that they all love Rhianna and miss her like he does and we do. So it was really important that we all had something that was the same that he could understand and he really understood this.
He gave everyone their candles and told them in no uncertain terms that these were Rhianna’s candles and that they all had to be lit when we were thinking about her.
So now we have a lovely little space for Rhianna her bear protects her candle and her candle is lit often and it brings a lot of comfort to us all-knowing that her candle is burning. We have a little peace looking at it and whenever we blow it out Baba shouts “Love you” as loud as possible and it breaks and warms my heart all at the same time!
