The Month of Flowers
Anyone who has ever read this blog knows what I think about March.
It is a really hard month for all of us, and is one where we either sink or swim. And to be honest it really depends on the day, sometimes we sink, sometimes we swim, sometimes its just one of us, sometimes it is all of us.
There are so many emotions running around this month, and it gets tough in our house. Baba has emotions he doesn’t really understand, and Mr L and I have a mixture of emotions some the same and some completely different. That is ok, that is healthy but it doesn’t make it easy.
If having Rhianna’s birthday/anniversary wasn’t enough for this month, this year we also have Tito’s first anniversary (which is today) and there are other anniversary in this month. Rhianna died near her great Nan’s anniversary and also near her Great Grandad’s birthday so even though they are not talked about a lot they still mean something to both of our families and to Mr L and I.
So I made a decision, I could be totally sad about this month, and I still will who am I kidding that I wont, or we could have something beautiful every day for this month.
On the first of this month, we brought some flowers

I love having flowers in the house, it is something I was never really bothered about and then Rhianna died, and for a whole month our house was full of flowers. Flowers in every room. Since then I have loved having them at home.
The other day I brought more flowers.

And that is when it came to me.
The best thing that I could do for March, to celebrate, remember and think about everyone who is important to us this month is to fill our house with flowers for the whole month.
I am not talking bunches and bunches but I am talking about making sure we have a bunch of healthy beautiful flowers in our house for every day of March.
It means we don’t have to remind the boys about the people and animals we are missing this month, we don’t have to be sad about it all the time.
We can just look at the flowers, and just be.
We can remember, we can see the beauty in them, we can smile and we can just enjoy.
A silent subtle way to remember, never forget and to spend some beauty in what is really a truly awful month generally!
