I Miss Having Rhianna Around
This weekend we shipped the boys off to my sisters for the weekend and had a weekend on our own.
We went to our friends in the evening for a BBQ which was lovely, we saw friends we haven’t seen for a while, we had a drink, we chilled and we knew the boys were fine. We played with our friends girls and just had a good time.
We got in late, we slept in late, and for the rest of Sunday we chilled, until we went to collect the boys from my sister at tea time.
It was when we were driving down that he said it.
Completely out of the blue.
Just a passing comment that was like a bolt of lightning.
I know it obviously.
But I wasn’t expecting it.
He never talks about it.
He never makes those kind of comments.
In fact he hardly ever talks about his feelings.
Always ‘holding it together’ for all of the rest of us.
But he obviously feels it
Tries to not show it but then things remind him
Like playing a game with a girl and not a boy
Remind him of the different relationship he would have, should have with Rhianna Lily
A more protective
Gently relationship
No rough and tumble
No wrestling
Just a more gentle relationship
A protective
A special dad and daughter relationship
That special bond
That bond that never goes never gets broken
And he has it
Off course he has it
But it will never grow as she grows
He can’t show it every day
He can’t hug her every day
He can’t protect her every day
And he doesn’t say a lot
But when he does, it is a statement so strong
So huge that it includes all the above feelings
Just a simple
“I miss having Rhianna around”
Nothing more needs to be said

Daddies really do feel it just as much as mummies. They express it differently, but the pain is there. Love yo you all xxx
Thank you very much x
Reading this brought tears to my eyes xxxx
I had to hold them back when he said it, as he so rarely says what he is really feeling bless him x
