Capture Your Grief – Educate
Educate – what do you want others to know about your experience with grief, this is today’s prompt for Capture Your Grief.
Where do I start…
What do I want people to know?
It NEVER goes away.
It NEVER stops.
Time heals for sure.
But it doesn’t end, ever.
And you never know when a bad moment, time or day is going to happen.
You can’t plan grief.
And grief isn’t just your child dying.
It isn’t just burying your child.
If only it was that simple.
Grief is everything else you miss.
The laughter, the fights, the personality, the firsts, the lasts, the fun times, the bad times.
It’s the favourite toy, the hated veg, the favourite music, the first crush.
It’s the starting of school, the best friends made, the friends of parents you would have made.
The first boyfriend, the first GCSE results, the first car, the college friends, the work friends.
The first home, the wedding, the son in law, the children, the aunt.
It’s a whole life.
And lives are made of moments.
And it is every single moment of every single day that is missed.
Grief NEVER ever ends.
Grief NEVER ever goes away.
Times heals, but grief NEVER stops.
That’s what I want people to know.
If you are a bereaved parent, you will always be a bereaved parent.
And I want others to know sometimes life will be hard for a bereaved parent, because grief NEVER ends and I wish people remembered that.
