Finding Me

A while ago I wrote about finding me, as I felt a little lost. A lot has happened since then.

I rearranged my blogs and combined them all to here and I went on maternity leave from Scrapbookerry.

I needed a break, I needed to find what I wanted, what I needed to help me.

To help me grieve.

Having Boo opened up so many things and I needed to recover mentally, and enjoy him, and Baba they are growing so fast and I was missing it. Worrying about not doing enough, worrying about not earning enough. Just worrying in general.

I needed to find me.

I hadn’t really blogged or crafted for a long time and it was affecting me, in the last few weeks I have realised I need to do both regularly. It really does help my soul.

Writing lets me get rid of the thoughts in my head, it helps me focus.

Crafting helps me relax, it lets me have a good nights sleep, it cleanses me.

I have made an effort to do both regularly. I even joined a fantastic craft group on a Thursday evening, where I get out the house and for two full hours I craft. It maybe something I know how to do, it maybe something completely new but for two hours it is all that I do and I love it, and it makes me happy.

Last week I got in a grump about my house and didn’t do either, and it really did affect me. I was in a foul mood.

I spent a couple of minutes blogging and crocheting on Saturday and felt so much better within minutes.

Last night I picked up Baba’s blanket the first time in months and almost felt peaceful, sitting and doing crochet. Doing something for me and doing something for Baba, made the feeling even better.

It may not seem a lot but to me writing, and crafting heals. It lets me recover, make sense of the world that in two years has taken our baby, Mr L’s best friend, and our faithful dog.

Writing and crafting let me process that.

They let me find me again.

I am there, there are just a lot of layers to get through and through writing and crafting I will I know it.
