Bureau Love

When I was pregnant with Baba I happened to be in a charity shop and found this old dark brown bureau, I had wanted a bureau from years and years ago, and it was a dream come true.

I obviously instantly brought it and it has been hanging around our house ever since, with no real purpose or place except storing junk and taking up some space.

A few weeks ago I decided that this whole house was going to be sorted, and I started on the bureau.

It was in the middle of the kitchen next to our big large pin unit, and it wasn’t really doing anything. I started looking at it in a different light, and decided that it was a perfect little space for me to do my writing course and continue my studies.

So I got cracking, painting it and trying to make it look a bit different. It didn’t take long before the whole unit looked completely different. With a little jigging of the furniture and moving it into the corner of the kitchen meant that I finally had my own little writing space, that I loved and that looked great in the kitchen.
The finishing touches came with adding the picnic basket underneath to add to the more vintage style look.

I even managed to repaint the inside and have it all full with my creative writing course, and am ready to get cracking with my studying once and for all. I love sitting here and writing, I just need to get started on the chair cushions now to make it a little more comfortable!
