Boo Starts Year Two

In a blink of an eye, our little Boo has today started year two.

The house is very quiet, there are no children shouting at each other, no arguing and no computer games or you tube constantly on in the background.

Instead the house is tidy, the washing is on, the back door is open, the laptop is on, work is being done and my TV programmes are on in the background.

I have had uninterrupted coffees, I have read my book in silence, and the dogs are totally enjoying owning the sofa once more without having to share it with two ever growing kids.

But it hasn’t all been so quiet and simple today.

Last night was a nightmare night with Boo, he cried most of the night away and was anxious and worried about school, resulting in him still be awake at 11pm until he finally wore himself out and went to sleep. He was then up at seven to make sure that he got to see his big brother before he headed off to big school this morning. So I am not sure how he will cope with the whole day at school, as he was tired before he even walked into the building.

But I am sure when he gets with his friends he will be happy and forget all about the tiredness until he gets home this evening.

He was excited to be going back into a class with all of his friends and excited to start in his new class and with his new teacher.

All in all I think we have two happy children, even if they have been slightly anxious with the new changes and how things are at school. They seem to have embraced them for their first couple of days, and I hoping that this will continue for the foreseeable, if not the long term.

Now it is time for us all to get used to the new routines, the new wake up times, the new amount of homework when it arrives, and my new times to get some work done at home.

It is all about new starts in September and I know we are all happy to kick off and get started with our new normal for now and be productive for this month!
