Big Bro Starts Secondary School

Yesterday was a big day in our house.

Big Bro started his new school journey and had his first day at Secondary school.

It is something he has massively been looking forward too since before he even finished Primary.

It is something I have been in denial about for months.

But it came around far too quickly and suddenly we woke up and the day was here.

He had to get up stupidly early compared to Primary school, especially the lockdown Primary times that he finished with.

It was something I was worried about but he bounded out of bed yesterday and was so so excited. He literally couldn’t stop smiling all morning.

He was up and dressed and ready much earlier than he had to be and couldn’t wait to leave and meet his friend to walk to school with.

I was worried about so many things, I have been having sleepless nights for the last week.

Not just because he is off to secondary, it is a huge change for him. But on top of all that there is the general covid related fears as well.

He is now in a huge year, instead of his one class.

He is in a new school.

New teachers.

New friends.

New subjects.

There are so many things that have changed for him and so many things that he has to now learn.

So many things that I have worried about for the last week.

But none of them have fazed him at all.

He loved it every single moment.

He likes his new class.

He likes the school and is massively looking forward to going again on Monday.

So we can’t really ask for anything more.

And the night before he headed off on his new journey I had a cuppa and this happened.

I am sure his sister as letting me know that everything would be OK.

I didn’t need to worry.

And everything was fine.
