And It’s Back To School We Go
Today was Baba’s first day back at school since having Half Term last week.
It was a shock to the system this morning, having to get up and get out on time. We have had a busy half term, but one where we made no plans for the morning, so even though they were still awake at the same time, they didn’t have to actually move or do anything until a lot later in the day, and it meant that Baba was allowed to mooch and it was totally needed.
This year he has got tired after school, I think his brain is working harder and it is making him tired he is being pushed. Which is a great thing, but it means he needs the holidays and is always knackered by the time they come round.
To be honest Baba could have had his half term a week earlier than he actually did as he was so tired that last week of term.
He was happy to go to school today, but I think he would have been even happier if he could have got up later and moved a little slower this morning.
For the first time today he was bothered by his appearance, he usually gets dressed, and just goes, and is never bothered about how he looks. Today he had to have his collar on his t-shirt properly over his jumper, he went up stairs to clean his teeth and took forever and came down having done his hair!
We then spent the rest of the morning going to school and in the playground making sure his hair was still ok!
This is all very new I am not sure if it was a one-off today or if this is the new morning routine. As if it is he is going to have to get moving a little bit more to make time for the hair!
But it is back to routine, we have had a weekend of lazy days, no plans, late nights and just doing what ever we really wanted.
It wasn’t just Baba that had no routine, Boo lost most of his as well and today I am paying for it having to battle with him for over an hour to get him to sleep as somewhere in the last week Boo has decided that he doesn’t need a sleep in the day. When he clearly still does.
I am back to trying to work in his nap times and working again in the evenings, but hopefully not as many late nights as last week as I was working away on the new website for work.
But it is always a shock for everyone when you suddenly have to get up and go back to school. We are all tired, Boo is wondering where Baba is and the house is so so quiet, I am not having to tell him things repeatedly throughout the day! It is always a shock to the system how quiet the house is without Baba and something that always takes me a couple of days to get used to.
