A Week Of Ordinary Moments

This week has flown past, we haven’t done anything amazing but it has been a busy week.

Starting with my birthday on Monday, celebrating my 38th really happened at the weekend as we had dinner out with friends, and a family meal and I actually got most of my presents on Saturday and Sunday as well, because everyone had school and work on Monday.

But I was totally spoilt with this Catherine Kidston bag, purse and passport holder set, clothes, books, flowers, Mary Poppins goodies and flowers delivered on the day.

Which are still gorgeous today, so have lasted really well as they are nearly a week old now and still looking lovely.

So Monday was all about the birthday. We had a lovely meal in the evening and I had a gorgeous lunch out with a friend on the day.

The rest of the week has been about reading, I finished my Gone series, read my book for the new book club I am joining in February and started my next book.

I am on my seventh book of this year so far, it is amazing how much quicker and how many books I am getting through. This is the year I really am going to make a dent in the stack of books that I have at home that I have never read.

And I have to say this Miranda book is one of them it has been sat on my shelf for years but I am loving it so far.

It is written just as she talks in the show which I find hilarious.

I have also been working on my knitting, finally finishing my Christmas present that my niece and nephew brought me and I blogged about it yesterday if you want to read more about it you can.

The week was going so well, then we had a little leak in the kitchen.

The drains got blocked and the pipe burst open at a joint which lead to water everywhere in my kitchen. Luckily it was an easy fix and Mr L had it all sorted in an evening.

But my god the mess it was not fun cleaning it up.

Thankfully since we redid our kitchen we don’t actually have many cupboards on the floor and one stores our bins, and one stores the medicines which are on a shelf higher than the pipes and all the cleaning products that thanks to Mrs Hinch are all in a basket so it could have been a lot worse. But the cupboards got a bit of a clean and a sort out after that and a day full of washing towels.

The end of the week was all about this little dude.

He has had a lump on his abdomen for a while now and it has recently got very large. So the vet wanted to get it out, as it was very large and resting on his ribs which means it could be causing issue with other organs and there was the possibility it was more sinister than just a lump. So Friday he went in for his op. Luckily for us all it was just a fatty lump and nothing more sinister but he has had a large cut and a big op and has been recovering all weekend and has vets appointments this week and medication for a few days.

But luckily he is all well.

Meaning that we haven’t really been out this weekend so my house is spotless, after the pipe incident and birthday mayhem.

Next week is a lot quieter week.

Actually there are no plans for the week, it is all going to be about admin things.

I need to finish of sorting my emails.

I need to finish sorting the blog out.

And I need to sort out my photos.

They were all things I wanted done by the end of January so hoping I can finish them all in a week!
