A Week Of Decorating
Last week was a week of decorating.
We decided after 13 years we would decorate our bedroom.
It’s the one room that never really gets decorated.
Last week I remembered why.
It is a complete and utter nightmare to decorate.
For one it is huge.
For two it has such such strange height walls that it is a struggle to fit any real furniture in that is useful for a bedroom.
And over the last 13 years it has become a bit of a dumping ground so the amount of things that were in that room that no longer had to be in there was a nightmare.
It took a long time.
A whole week from start to finish.
A week of painting.
Building furniture.
Removing the rubbish.
Decluttering the clothes.
Rearranging the furniture.
And finding homes for everything.
But it is finally done.
Last night was the first night we both slept upstairs in our bed all week, we have been sleeping on the sofa for a week and it was utter bliss.
The walls are now grey and blue.
We have furniture for our clothes, furniture that matches and is all a similar colour.

We have actual bedroom furniture.

We have space.
And it finally feels like a room rather than a dumping ground.
And I also have some of my art work up in the house at long last.

It has taken a huge amount of time, and isn’t a room that I will be decorating again in a hurry.
But it is finally finished.
And I do totally love it now that it is completed.
