Decorating The Kitchen

One room we have been dreading in our decorating is the kitchen.

It needed so much work done to it and it wasnt a case of just being able to paint this room.

I needed Mr L a lot for this room.

We needed to remove and replace some of the ceiling, we needed some holes filled in, new tiles put up and some of the plugs sorted out as well. All before I could start painting.

It was a mission.

One neither of us were really looking forward too.

But one that desparately needed to be done.

So we set aside the Easter Bank Holiday weekend, even though Mr L was convinced we would need longer and got cracking.

And we did it in the weekend.

The problem was it then took two days to clear up and reorganise the kitchen.

But it is all done and it looks amazing.

I haven’t got before pictures of the room as I also hid all the issues we had.

But it was white with brown speckled small tiles around the cupboards and cooker. It wasn’t that exciting but now it is lovely.

We have gone for a yellow, Evening Primrose is the colour, grey and white.

We changed the tiles to white, we painted the walls and added the grey with the accessories such as the table cloths and vases etc.

We have a lovely little area under the stairs that both Mr L and I can work from and it is the perfect space.

I even got my dark horrible brown clock and painted it grey so it really becomes a feature of the room rather than chucking it out.

And I love it.

I love the way it all flows together.

It is the freshen up it so needed.

The yellow in the room really makes the room lighter and the white tiles are definitely what the room needed.

It was a lot of work over a few days but it was so worth it as it looks so much better and is now a room we all love rather than the room we were beginning to hate.
