A Dress

Yesterday as I was looking through the many craft groups that I am a member of I saw a dress.

It was nothing fancy.

A little dress made for a little girl.

A toddler girl.

It was just a shift dress with a pleated skirt.

I see dresses all the time, having small nieces who are obsessed with princesses it is the norm.

But this dress was different.

You see most dresses make me want to curl up into a ball and cry. I will never buy those things, not for our little girl, always for someone else.

It doesn’t matter how many months or years go by. When you first died it was baby dresses. Now you should be two it’s toddler dresses. As time moves on the dresses that make me want to cry grow too.

But this dress made me smile.

I showed your Daddy it made him smile to.

You see from the moment I found out I was pregnant with you I knew you were like your Daddy. Baba is so like me and when we found out you were a girl I knew you were Daddies girl. Nothing will ever make me change my mind on that.

The day you were born I was convinced of it. You looked so like your Daddy.

I always wanted a girlie girl, who loved princesses and hair and make up and that wouldn’t have been you. You would have been climbing trees, breaking your arms and every boys best friend (much to Daddies disgust)

And that’s why this dress made me smile.

A gorgeous toddlers dress.

Perfect for a two year old girl.

Made out of Marvel Comic fabric.

From top to bottom Captain America, Hulk, Iron Man, and Thor.

A dress perfect for you Rhianna Lily, who like her Daddy and her big brother (and I am sure her baby brother too) would have been comic book crazy!
