Wedding Wednesday – It’s the Little Things

When we got married our wedding was very much about the little things.

The little touches that made it very much about us.

We had no suits for instance as Mr L hates them.

We had no flowers, poms poms instead as I refused to be itching my eyes with hayfever on my wedding day.

We had little things around the reception for Rhianna and these things made it all the more special.

It was one of the reasons I had made our decorations. So they were all special to us.

They were unique and personal and meant the most to us.

When it comes to remembering our wedding I have always had the same thinking.

We didn’t have a professional photos, we had an amazing friend do our photos and I have personally printed them off as I have wanted them.

But then the little things from the wedding have moved into our house.

We still have a lot of the decorations up in our house. We literally brought them home from the wedding and made them just at home in our house.

I love it as it means you can walk in any room in our house and find something related to the wedding.

It means there are memories are everywhere.

One thing we have that wasn’t a decoration but has been kept from the wedding is this champagne cork.

We are not champagne drinkers in actual fact we aren’t generally drinkers at home full stop. Neither Mr L or U drink wine and we aren’t a couple that will sit down of an evening with a glass of alcohol. We would rather have a cuppa while watching TV.

But this champagne cork was something that I decided to keep and absolutely love it.

I got ready at home with my bridesmaids and the BB and Boo and my nephew.

We had the hairdresser, also a friend, and our friend taking the photos there and we all had champagne while getting ready.

So I kept the cork.

I used some of the left over ribbon from the bridesmaids dresses that I had added to them in our colour scheme. And tied a bow around the cork and it now lives on our shelf in the lounge, under a picture of Mr L and me at the wedding reception.

It is a super simple keepsake but one that holds so many happy memories and a moment in time and one that I totally love!
