The Year I Make It Happen
Every year Mr L and I sit down and moan about the things we didn’t achieve in the past year, it is a depressing thing to do and it is something we are going to stop doing, this year we are going to make our goals happen and this great app from Lloyds Bank helps you break down those goals related to your home, life and money so that you can achieve them and not look back like we do and see the things that we haven’t achieved.
So what are my goals for this year.
HOME
We have been in our house for over 6 years, and it had a full redecoration when we moved into the house. But 6 years later, 2 dogs, a rabbit, hamster and two children later the needs in our house are a lot different to when it was just the two of us. The house is big enough and is our house for life but there is some serious changes needed and that is what we plan to do this year. Some rooms need to be redecorated. Rooms need to be measured and sketches need to be drawn for what will work best in each room, and furniture needs to be moved.
We need a major declutter and some storage plans put in place to make the house work again for us.
LIFE
It is no secret that this year we are getting married, and because of Boo the planning was put to one side last year. So this year we are planning the whole wedding in just over 7 months.
This means we need to do the budgeting and get everything in place, we have venues, photos, food, drinks and outfits all to organise as well as the smaller things such as invites, favors and decorations.
We have wedding lists galore, and most nights involve a little Wedding planning. Spreadsheets are also being drawn up to make sure we have everything we need and don’t go over the budget. I also have a new best friend in the form of our wedding book, which has everything placed in it and written in it so that we don’t forget any of our ideas.
MONEY
This year is going to be an expensive year, getting married and trying to get things in the house sorted. But we also have two children to provide for now, and they are not cheap, and we have debts to pay. This is the year we really sort our budget out and try to get on top of everything that we pay and start to save. Even if we only put £5.00 a week away I am determined to put something away each week as we need to be planning for the future and not just living on a day-to-day basis as we live now.
What goals do you have for 2014? How do you plan to achieve them this year?
