The First Cinema Trip
A couple of weeks ago we took Baba on a first outing for him.
To the cinema!
Baba has been on for about a month now that he wanted to go to the cinema, and I have to admit it has been in our minds to take him to the cinema since the beginning of the year. But firstly I hurt my back falling down the stairs and then Rhianna passed away so it has been put off and put off. But we wanted his summer to be special this year. So we decided that we would take him this summer.
Then when films that we knew that he would love started coming out we knew that we had to go. He kept on asking to see Ice Age 4 and then he saw The Lorax advertised on TV and that was it that was all he asked to see for about a week and a half. So after persistent asking and lots of confirmation that he wanted to see The Lorax and not Ice Age 4 we went off on a Saturday morning ready for our first family trip to the cinema.
Before we had Baba Mr L and I used to go to the cinema lots and lots and neither one of us can remember the last time we went, so I am not actually who was more excited Baba, Mr L or myself. But we were all excited that was for sure.
We got there pretty early, and it was a real treat so we even got sweeties from the cinema, made the experience so much more expensive but it was his first time!
We were still early, but luckily they had opened up the cinema so we went in early and waited. Baba was fascinated with the room, he was also fascinated with the chairs! Luckily we did go in early as he did need a wee a couple of times and it meant that he went all the times that he needed to go before the movie started.
We were both worried about whether he would be ok with the noise at the cinema but he was absolutely fine, and he really enjoyed the whole thing. He sat nicely for the film, he did move between Mr L and myself and then at the end actually went to sit in the row behind us, but to be honest it was nice and empty so it really didn’t matter. The important thing was that he didn’t lose concentration he didn’t make a lot of noise and he just sat and watched the movie. He really enjoyed it, as did Mr L and I. He kept telling us that he enjoyed it and has told everyone about his trip to the cinema and is already planning his next trip.
I was really impressed at how well he took to it, and it was expensive but at the same time it was something that he loved. Our cinema do deals on Saturday mornings for children so now we know that he likes it I think I will look into these deals a bit more as they are a fantastic thing to do with him while Mr L is working! So hopefully we will have many more visits in the future.
As for Baba he is planning his next trip…
To see The Lorax!
Do your children like the cinema? Have you been recently what films would you recommend for a nearly four-year old to watch there?

My boys like the cinema too, but it takes a good film to hold oldest attention. Brave they both enjoyed but little one was a bit scared of the bears. x
We have been contemplating Brave but I think it may be better to watch at home first as I think Baba will get a little scared as well! xx
