That’s Life

April was the month I was going to be organised.

It is something I have struggled with since having Boo and this was the month I was finally going to get on top of things, get on top of writing, studying, and working.

I even wrote a schedule I got that sorted.

Then we got ill!

That’s life I suppose. But I don’t actually remember a day that we were all well. It has been that long.

It started with Baba who didn’t even manage to finish school on his last day. Only lasting until lunchtime before school phoned for me to come and collect him. He missed his Easter egg hunt, and he spent the rest of the afternoon sleeping the day away. Always a sign that he is properly ill.

We spent the next few days with a poorly Baba fighting a temperature, cough and a stinking cold, along with sickness, he had the works bless him and it was horrible to see him so poorly. However with a lot of sleep he seemed to come through it, and by the beginning of his first week of holidays he was much better. Then Mr L went down with a stinking cold, high temperature and just feeling utterly rotten. He kept battling though and carried on knowing that he only had a few days before the Easter weekend.

It got to Easter Sunday and everyone seemed to be getting better. Boo still had a cough that we weren’t overly happy about, he had it for a few weeks and it didn’t seem to be getting better. We had been to the doctors already but were sent away and told to go back if it got worse.

By Sunday night everything changed. I started to get ill and the shivers started and I felt sick and felt worse and worse as the evening went on. Monday was no better, but thankfully Mr L was still home.

It’s not often that I am ill, but this really knocked me for six. I got worse, Boo got worse and we spent most of last week back and forth to the doctors with Boo, to be told that he is more than likely asthmatic, and has bronchitis but just to keep an eye. The poor boy was rattling when he breathed and was coughing 24/7 so we went back to the doctors to be told there was nothing on his chest! We had to battle the doctors, I had to battle the doctors to finally get them to give him some antibiotics. Which they finally agreed last Thursday after a numerous amount of visits, but finally the rattle is going and he at long last seems to be getting better.

I have all the same symptoms as Boo, but I have a virus apparently, so it’s a get on with it scenario. I managed to eat for the first time semi properly yesterday, since last Sunday, but I cough all day everyday and literally have not energy to do anything. I feel better than I did, but still feel properly ill. I am not sure how much longer this will last, or how much longer I will survive without heading back to the doctors. But currently every burst of energy I have is filled with things that I should have been doing throughout April. While I spend the rest of the time trying to rest and get better.

As being sick with a five-year old and 21 week old, is just a nightmare in itself!
