Slimming World in Lockdown

Well I have to admit, it isn’t really happening!

So I haven’t really written a lot of updates with regards to our Slimming World journey over the last few weeks.

Lets be totally honest here, Mr L and I am really struggling.

You would have thought that when we were both at home it would have been easier, after all we had the time, we had the advantage of working together, and we had the time to plan and cook together.

We didn’t really take advantage of any of it.

We are emotional eaters, there is no doubt about that.

I also struggle when I feel bad emotionally.

And Mr L is a boredom eater.

There was a lot of both of these to be honest, lockdown started on Rhianna’s birthday and I have already written how that made feel.

Chocolate firmly became my friend, and is hard to give up if I am totally honest.

We have eaten rubbish and it doesn’t matter how many days I wake up thinking, and planning to be on plan for the day, and something happens and by the end of the day I am not on plan at all.

It is hard work.

The world we lost weight in is completely different.

Currently, I am at home all the time with the boys, I am homeschooling, I am trying to ring my Tropic business and I am also trying to be mum, housekeeper, dog owner, wife, cook and cleaner.

And it is so much easier to grab a bad for you snack, than to try to think of good for you snack, however much I want it to be the other way round. When I am feeling a bit meh, or fed up, I don’t want a healthy snack, I just want a bad thing.

One of the things that I really do struggle with is that when I don’t sleep well, I want to eat crap. And my sleep in this lockdown has been insane.

I have never ever been the best at sleeping.

I can survive on little sleep and in this period, I am sleeping less and less, and when I do sleep it is restless sleep and I don’t actually get a good nights sleep.

So when I am awake, I am struggling with my tiredness and I want crappy food, and there isn’t really an argument for not having it at the moment the only place I really go is to the supermarket and really you can look like anything to go to the supermarket and it isn’t on the top of my list how I look right now.

Which is probably a good thing with the way things are going.

I have the idea to be good and on plan.

I lack the motivation to be good and on plan.

I have even signed up to our group Zoom calls, however it isn’t really helping my motivation or my eating in a healthy way.

Which then makes me feel a bit rubbish about the food I am eating, and by the food I am not eating and that starts a vicious circle.

And I feel a bit stuck in it at the moment.

I don’t want to be eating what I am eating, I want to eat better, but I don’t and then I eat what I don’t want to eat, and then want to eat better, and have an idea to get started again, but I don’t eat better.

And it goes round and round again!

And if I am totally honest I am not really 100% how to get back out of this loop, and how to get my focus back and my motivation back to being on plan for Slimming World!

And it is driving me a little nuts now!
