Shopping, Smiling and Being Normal

Today was a pretty normal mundane day for us, we had to do a food shop and managed to sneak in a little craft shop as well.

But the difference was that my lovely polite and nice mannered child seemed to return! Yes he still had a few moments of frustration and upset, but he listened to what was said and it was all over in a couple of minutes. There wasn’t any screaming, shouting and loosing control. He listened, he got distracted and we moved on.

We managed to do a big shop round the supermarket with no major issues, something that we have not been able to do for a long time. He didn’t scream, he didn’t cry. In fact he held the shopping list and just got on with it and was a really great help.

The last two days he has been back to normal with his toileting as well, he has been asking every time he needs the toilet, and he asked in the Supermarket! He has worn the same outfit the whole day! And has been completely on top of it.

It is great having the fun loving, funny, cheeky, non screaming and shouting boy back rather than the constant stroppy, hitting out, screaming child that we have had for the last few weeks! Lets hope the quieter one stays for a while!
