Football!

Baba got a pair of his cousins shin pads a little while ago, and as I was sorting through the bag of clothes, I thought that they may fit already so brought them down to try them on.

They fitted well, and I am not sure who was more excited Baba or Mr L that he had a pair of shin pads, but we were quickly off to the park to play football. Baba can kick a ball he has been able to for a while, but he doesn’t really get the concept of football, it is the kicking back and forth to another person that he doesn’t understand. He does it once and then just picks the ball up to be honest.

But he was really excited about playing with Daddy.

He eagerly walked to the football area of the park with the ball in his hands. First of all he wanted a go in the basket ball shoot, which he did and thought was brilliant, and then we got him near the goal to have a play at football.

He took a shot at the goal and got the ball in, this was very exciting and he did it a couple more times. He kicked the ball to Daddy a couple of times, chased the ball, threw the ball, one more kick in the goal and then he was done!

His concentration was used up and football was finished! It was literally as quick as that and he asked to go on the swings.

So it was very short lived, but at least he had a try, we can’t ask for more than that can we! Last night he got very excited about watching the football with Daddy, maybe he is going to be a watcher and not a player!
