Roses on the Beach

For Rhianna’s first birthday I had this idea to throw flowers into the sea.

It didn’t happen as the weather was hideous that day.

It is something I still think would be a gorgeous thing to do, but something we have never got around to doing.

Today the boys had an inset day and we went to the beach.

While we were there, we found some roses on the stones.

First we found one, then another and another.

Until we had three.

They had clearly already been thrown into the water.

I can only imagine it being Mother’s day yesterday that someone had thrown them into the sea for their mum yesterday.

It seemed wrong that they were still on the ground on the pebbles and not in the water.

I know how much I have wanted to do this for Rhianna in the past and if someone had done it for the mum yesterday the boys and I thought they should be thrown back into the sea.

So we made sure we took some photos.

We had a little moment were I had a bit of moment thinking about Rhianna and how doing something simple like this would mean the world to me.

So I made sure I got a picture of the boys with a rose to remember doing this.

We waited for the waves to come in and threw them all back to the sea.

I knew if we had thrown theses roses to sea for Rhianna and someone else found them washed up on the shore I would want them to throw them back into the waves.

I am assuming they were thrown yesterday and were for their mum, and I am pleased we managed to throw them back into the water for their loved one today!
