Paddy, Paddy, Paddy

So it seems Boo has learnt to throw a paddy.

He has always been a hot-headed child and we saw it very young with him. He knows what he wants and we know about it if he doesn’t get it. But until last week it was just a lot of noise and nothing more.

Last week Boo decided to up his game.

Baba was home and that obviously meant Boo couldn’t do what he wanted. He had a controller, Baba wanted the controller, Baba asked nicely and that resulted in a massive tantrum from Boo.

He started screaming, he held onto the controller with all his might, he went red with anger and his feet started to stamp. Boy did they stamp, Baba has never been a foot stamper, Boo is certainly making up for that. They were going at a great speed and it looked like he was never going to stop.

When I managed to get the controller off him Boo went into a complete meltdown crying and screaming and attempting to throw anything that was in sight.

Baba and I were shocked he is not quite 15 months and the terrible twos looked like they were already starting to hit.

I was hopeful that it may have been a one-off, but last night he went again when Daddy had something that he wanted and it was confirmed the terrible twos have hit the house.

Mr was shocked, we had told him all about Boo’s tantrum, but I think he was still shocked when he saw it. I don’t think he was expecting it to be as bad as it was.

So it seems we have a hot-headed 15 month old, that will not stop at anything to get his own way. I am hoping these wont last that long, and that hopefully the more words he learns the tantrums will reduce, as he really doesn’t say a lot and I think he gets so frustrated because off it. So I am working a lot on him with saying things and repeating the words, as I think this is a huge issue for him.

But for now we will work on the tantrums, try to help Baba deal with them as well as try to reduce them from happening.

Oh how I love the terrible two’s even when they arrive super early!

Any tips greatly received.
