Normality Resumed!

At last after the last six weeks normality has been resumed.

I am not saying that I haven’t enjoyed having Baba at home with me, but I have to say it has been quite difficult to work around the holidays. It isn’t just having Baba at home, the last six weeks have generally been very hectic full stop. We have crammed a lot in, to be honest. All have been fab, but my has it been trying and to put work on top of that has been hard.

Since preschool broke up the second to last week in July, Baba has been a page-boy, and my best friend has got married. We have been to see my sister and her children on holiday, three times in all! They were there for ten days and just down the road from us, my nephew has been to stay, my niece has been to stay. Baba loves having sleepovers and has been going on about them for days before, so it has felt that they have been here for much longer than the night that they actually were. We have had cousins over, seen friends that we haven’t seen for a while. Been to London, taking Baba on the underground for the first time ever! Which he loved. We have had our other nieces christening and all in all not really stopped!

Last night after the christening, both Mr L and I sat down and we were shattered. I don’t know whether it was the christening, or having our niece before her christening yesterday. Or having our other niece Thursday night and Friday or whether it was everything else that had finally caught up with us.

We haven’t really stopped, whenever we have had a couple of spare moments, I have been trying to sort things out. I have moved the study and craft room round, the study still isn’t sorted. But getting there. But everything was done so quickly that nothing was really completed of done correctly. Today I took the whole six hours Baba was at preschool, sorting the house out. The study is still not completed, but everything else is gorgeously tidy and probably for the first time in six weeks!

It has been manic to say the least, and it has been oh so tiring! But great fun too. I have loved having Baba at home, and he loved it too. Although last week he asked a few times when he was going back to school, as he missed his friends so I think that he was ready the time was right for him. Any longer and the whole holiday would have gone a little pear shaped.

But the best bit off all was him walking out of school today, with his pile of pictures, and the teachers asking when he will be going for more hours. As he is such a joy to have at school!
