A Little Gardening Update
In May I wrote about Baba moving his seeds into his big garden so thought it was about time to write a little gardening update.
Since May things have changed dramatically.
We have lost a lot of plant’s and many seeds have gone completely and utterly wild. But we do finally have some plants that are actually looking really good and Baba is getting very excited about it day in and day out, going out and looking at all the plants and seeing what is growing and what is ready to pick.
Luckily we still have a few things, carrots, he isn’t that excited about as we always seem to grow carrots easily in our garden.
We have tomatoes, these are a strange combination some plants are growing some seem to have stopped and one has tomatoes beginning to actually appear on the plant.

Baba is counting them daily to see how many are growing and whether they are green or going red.
We have strawberries, and we have managed to already pick a couple and they are super yummy.

We tried to grow these from seeds, and to be honest they failed miserably not growing at all. In the end I had to go and buy some strawberry plants as the boys were so upset that nothing was growing from seed. But the strawberries they are producing are lovely tasting and so sweet and gorgeous.
For the first time we have courgettes growing, Baba is excited about these as we have never managed to grow them before, but they do seem to be taking up our whole garden so I am not sure what to do with these, as I really don’t think I can grow these like this again, so I need to make a decision before we start planting next year.

But the thing that Baba is so excited about, and something that he has wanted to grow for years and years, is the pumpkins.
Again these seem to be another plant that is taking over the whole vegetable patch, and I really need to work out how to grow these next year. Baba is so excited about these and looks at them every single day. Seeing how big they are and the colour that they are as we have never managed to grow these before so he is fascinated.

This year we have learnt a lot from gardening, and have made a few mistakes, we have really highlighted how much we don’t know about gardening, and proved that we are real novices.
So I think I need to sit down and have a little research and a read of what to do and the best way to grow different vegetables and fruits for next year.
I also need to look at the space we have and decide the best way for us to plant things for next year.
So any tips out there would be gratefully received how do you grow your own in a small garden?
