Just Today

Today I have had both boys at home.

Boo has had a bit of a temperature the last few days, (I think he has his finally few teeth coming through). He is fine in himself, but has gone of his food, only will eat the things he really likes and we know he likes, and just seems to be running a temperature and being a bit of a grotbag. His usual process with teeth.

But yesterday school phoned about Baba, he had been a little sick before his school play in front of the school.

He looked a deathly white/green when I collected him, and came home to spend the afternoon on the sofa. But after a couple of hours he perked up.

He has been off again today, as he was sick, although he seemed so much brighter when he woke up this morning and has kept all his food down today. But being off meant that he has missed his first showing of his school play this evening. (Luckily they are doing two shows so he will manage the second one)

But he was a bit gutted that he missed his show.

So we put a plan into action of putting up the decorations for Christmas last night.

We used to put our decorations up on the 1st of December, but with Boo’s birthday on the 3rd we try to leave it until the 4th now. However this year we were waiting for the floor in the lounge to be stuck down, which was happening today, however with Boo’s temperature and Baba coming home from school, we cancelled that appointment. So Mr L and I decided to get our tree and decorations up last night.

I went and got some new decorations as ours were starting to fall apart, and over night sorted most of the lounge. Both the boys woke up loving the decorations and Baba has spent the whole day telling anyone who has phoned that Jingle the Elf has put up the tree over night! Bless him.

For the rest of the day we have pottered.

The boys both seem to be turning a corner, Baba more so than Boo, but Boo is doing it as well. So Boo played with his new toys and Baba read his Horrid Henry joke book.

Reading them out loud to me, resulting in hysterical fake laughing from Boo, and then him shouting “that’s funny” at the top of his voice.

Boo then proceeded to repeat most of the jokes back to me.

So lucky Mummy got to listen to them all twice!

After quite a chilled morning, mooching around and watching TV. We managed to all sit on the sofa and watch Elf this morning which got us all into the Christmas spirit. After lunch I found the boys white Christmas tree that I put together and fits beautifully under our stairs near the piano, and they spent a good hour decorating it with all our left over baubles.

They worked well together, and actually have a tree that I am not ashamed to have downstairs, which makes the decorations even better this year.

Basically today has been a just day.

Just pottering.

Just chilling.

Just being quiet.

Just relaxing.

Just getting better!
