Jubilee Weekend

It seems an age that I blogged and well actually it is, I haven’t blogged for over a week mainly because I haven’t had the time to sit down and write a post.

As well as being the Jubilee and half term, it has also been the week leading up to CRAFTfest and to say it has been manic really is a complete and utter understatement.

I am still behind with things that I have to do and CRAFTfest starts tomorrow, but finally things are up to a point that I can go with the launch of the fair and add to it once the event has started.

We have had a great week, it really has been mega busy but we have all had so much fun. Having the added bonus of Mr L being at home for four days always starts the week of well.

Those four days were action packed though, and I think that we are all still recovering from them really. Saturday we went to see my sister and her family camping, and Baba had a fantastic time. He played in the sandpit, went and played football with Mr L, his cousin and my BIL. He collected pine cones and feathers and we all went for a nice long walk with the dog. We played cards, and chilled at the tent, it was a lovely afternoon and we all got back refreshed but tired from the seaside air.

Sunday Baba spent some time with his Nanny and Grandad and other cousin, and eventually ended up staying the night as I had so much work to do and Mr L was out with his friend. Baba had a great time, and I finally got through the back log of my emails.

Monday we did our Jubilee celebrations going over to a friend’s house party, and we had a fantastic time. The food was fabulous, the company was great and the party games were just fab. The children had an egg and spoon relay race, they had to drench the “Queens” Mr L and our friends husband, and they had to pop balloons between their tummy’s. They all had a fab time and even though Baba was the youngest child there he wasn’t bothered and he mucked in and made best friends with all of the other children there. Jumping on the trampoline with them, watching them play the computer and following them around everywhere.

It really was a party fit for the queen.

Baba even managed to sneak a little seat on a motorbike, which he loved and Mr L has come away with a few ideas in his head. I can tell from the way he is looking. I have a feeling someone may have a new hobby very soon!

We left the party full of good spirit and Baba was shattered after all the excitement of the day. He had a super fantastic day and really enjoyed himself, just as much as Mr L and I did as well.

Tuesday was a wash out to be honest, the rain started and it never seemed to stop. We had decided to wander down town and take the dog for a walk and we got caught in the rain, by the time we got back home we were all drenched and all we wanted to do was change our clothes and chill for the rest of the day. Once we were in it was quite nice to do nothing to be honest as we had a busy busy weekend.

All in all our Jubilee weekend was fab and we all had a fantastic few days just doing family things, seeing friends and chilling.
