It Never Ends!
There are points in your life when you just think please stop.
Our life has been stressful the past few weeks, Mr L was poorly, Baba had his operation etc etc. You have all heard it before I am tired about talking about it all now! I think you are tired reading about it.
But everything was getting back to normal. Baba went to Nanny and Grandads today, he had a great time, and we came home to a lovely cooked meal in the slow cooking. Baba and I just couldn’t wait it smelt too good, so we ate early. Baba loved it and so did I and we finished and were starting to get down and clean up when I suddenly saw out of the corner of my eye that Tito our beagle was limping.
He wasn’t putting any weight on his right front paw, and I tried to get him over to have a look, but he only really lets Mr L near him when he feels poorly. So he was having none of it.
Once Mr L came home Tito seemed to be a little worse, so he managed to pick him up and have a look at him. At first there seemed to be nothing wrong with him. After nearly an hour, Tito didn’t seem to be getting any better, so we had another look at him. This time above his second claw seemed really inflamed. And he seemed to be in more and more discomfort.
We decided to phone the emergency vet, and he advised that we bathed his paw in salt water. To see if there was anything in the paw. So Mr L did this while I was putting Baba to bed.
I got a shout saying that Tito needed to go to the vet as he was yelping when Mr L touched his paw. So once Baba was sleeping I came down and had a look and just to the side of Tito’s claw was all pussy and red raw. So the second call to the emergency vet was made, and he said that he would see him if we really wanted but it was £73.00 plus VAT to be seen and he didn’t think it was life threatening. So to give him some paracetamol to help him sleep, to carry him and not let him weight bare and that he would write an email to the vet saying that we would be calling first thing in the morning.
The words give him paracetamol made Mr L and myself roll our eyes, giving tablets to Tito is never the easiest thing in the world. He foams at his mouth like he has rabies, it gets spat in and out repeatedly. He makes himself sick. You name it. Tito can do it when it comes to tablets.
So I sneaked into the kitchen and got it ready squashed the tablet into some cheese and braced myself. Tito took it without any fuss, he must be poorly. Mr L then carried him to the sofa and he is now sleeping next to me.
He foot looks really sore, it looks like an abscess and is very pussy. I have called my parents to come and sit with Baba while I take Tito to the vets tomorrow and Mr L and I are bracing ourselves that Tito may have to stay in tomorrow I am not sure obviously but bracing myself for the worst.
I think we may have a long night tonight!

Oh hunny I’m so sorry that nothing is ever easy for you. Just know that you can call me any time day or night to rant or rave or just to chat about inconsequential things. Sending you big hugs xxxx
Thanks hun, that means a lot bless him he looks so sad for himself xx
Oh rubbish, horrible when pets are ill and they have no way of telling us how they feel. Good luck x
