Ill Or Not Ill?

This week we have had a difficult one with Baba, it is like he is ill. But not really ill and I really can’t work it out.

I think that he is fighting something his little body at night seems very distressed when he is sleeping, he thrashes around, talks in his sleep, cries in his sleep and screams a lot. So we have basically had no sleep at all.

It all started Monday when he was a little hot and bothered throughout the day, but didn’t have a temperature. He went to bed really early at 5pm to be precise and was in a deep sleep. By 7.30pm he was screaming the house down, and was still asleep we couldn’t calm him at all and he screamed in his sleep for nearly 40minutes, he eventually calmed down sitting on my lap still asleep, and as he sat there his temperature started shooting up. When we took it, it was nearly 40degrees so we gave him some medicine and he started to wake up. He was then awake till 10pm but saying that he wanted to sleep and just not going. He was talking about lollipops in the kitchen and was getting upset about, and we thought that he may have had a bad dream about these lollipops.

He ended sleeping with Mr L in our bed and I slept in his bed for the night. He was very restless and thrashing around all night by 4am he was awake with a temperature of 39 degrees again, and didn’t actually go back to sleep till later that day.

Throughout the day he was foul, he didn’t have a temperature all day but was hideous. I decided not to work and to keep him at home with me. I am glad that I did as everything was wrong for him, he just screamed all day.

The evening came and a temperature came back, so again he slept in our bed with Mr L, and the same thing happened. He thrashed, kicked, cried etc throughout the night and then had a temperature in the early hours of the morning.

Yesterday I again decided to keep him home with me and he seemed fine, he did have a bit of a temperature first thing and I gave him some medicine. But after that he was playing happily and bouncing around. By bedtime he was tired, but no temperature but bite like spots on his stomach. We were concerned that he had chicken pox but thought we would see what he was like today. So he went to bed in his own room, the first time all week and took a long time to settle. Crying and screaming, but I think that was because he was used to being in our bed.

However by 1am he was up crying and having a major coughing fit, he continued to cough and wouldn’t settle. So I made the bed up in his room and slept there for the night. I had an interrupted nights sleep as he coughed throughout the night. He didn’t wake till 9.15 this morning. This is unheard of, since birth he has always been an early riser, usually 6am but occasionally to 7.30am never later than that though. Since he has been awake he has eaten some yoghurt’s and just been asking to go to sleep. He has no temperature and I have checked his body and the spots seem to have gone.

So now I am stumped, he has preschool tomorrow and I am not sure whether he should go or not. He isn’t right I am sure of that but I can’t seem to work out what is wrong with him. He has been eating and drinking fine all week, his toilet habits have been the same. He has had conjunctivitis but that is all but gone now, so I am completely baffled. Do any of you have any ideas?

UPDATED:

I took Baba to the doctors and they have checked him all over and have said that there is nothing wrong with him, but he is obviously fighting something and that if he is still like it on Monday to take him back. This evening his whole chest was covered in these spots, and then they all disappeared again and has been coughing all evening. So we have decided to keep him off pre school tomorrow and will see how he is this weekend!
