Holidays and Friends?

Last night Mr L and I went to bed and watched a movie, something I don’t think we have done for a few months maybe even a couple of years. He obviously feel asleep but I carried on with my latch hook rug and watched the whole movie.

We were watching Grown Ups and it really made me think. When we stopped being a little bit silly and became so bloody grown up! I am not sure whether it was the movie or whether it was the fact that we had only been talking about the exact same thing earlier in the evening.

You see earlier on we had been looking at holidays and saying how it would be fantastic if we could go away with a group of friends, but that it was difficult when you don’t know the other halves, or some of you have children and some of you don’t. But still we thought it would be fab.

There are a few friends that I would love to go away with, and I think that we would all have a fantastic time. Wouldn’t it be great for the children to get to know one another, and to get to know all of their parents friends I would love that to happen. To see all of our children who wouldn’t necessarily see a lot of each other but really get on when they did.

It has really got me thinking. I know breaks with a family are fantastic and I am not saying that I want to swap them or replace them, but I would love a big huge holiday with a big bunch of people. Having a nice big cottage somewhere, being able to chat and talk in the evenings when the children are in bed. But otherwise just chilling and doing your own family things in the day if you want to. Oh it sounds bliss to me.

Do any of you do it? How does it work? Where do you go?
