Growing Up!

Over the past few weeks there has been a lot of changes in Baba. He is in his third month of big school now and you can really see the difference. It is a little scary!

He is no longer at the toddler stage, that is long gone and there is this new child before us.

One that has an urge to learn. Everything he is soaking up like a sponge and he can not actually get enough information, every day he asking about something else. Everyday he is asking endless questions, wanting us to know the answers and trying to find them out if we don’t.

We catch him on the sofa with books in his hands trying to read the words, and make out what the books say.

He is constantly writing notes, most of the time no one can understand them, as they are just a mass of letters but to him they are notes. If he isn’t writing notes then he is writing numbers! He seems to love numbers. He is at his happiest with a pen and a piece of paper in hand.

He spends hours in his art room, making things, books are his favourite thing, I think that he has a bit of the scrapbooking love that his Mummy has. As he spends hours making books and filling them up. This morning he has spent all morning at his art table making Christmas presents, I have no clue what they are as he has been making them and then hiding them away but he is determined to do them all himself. He loves pottering and learning and watching things that he can find more information about. He loves science and nature and can spend hours watching both of them, and doing experiments.

Only today he was telling me how he put stickers in a bowl of water and let the water evaporate to see if the stickers still worked and they did! His own personal experiment that he thought off.

All of these changes have happened very quickly. It is like he has suddenly grown up, and has become this inquisitive, desperate to learn child. It is lovely to watch.

To see the eagerness for his learning, to see him soaking everything up.

To see that he has total love for anything new that you can teach him. It is fantastic and I hope it continues.

I love seeing his face light up when he learns something new, or works something out on his own, and discovers that he can do it all by himself! He has such a sense of pride and it is really lovely to see!

But I don’t like that he is growing up so quickly, he seems to have changed so much in just three months! And that is a little bit scary.
