And Off We Go Again!
So it is the colder months and I was dreading it to be honest, with Baba at a new school and his reputation of not doing winter months that well with illness.
But this year it seems to be me, I seem to be catching everything and anything that is going and have had a run of just being ill.
It started last week with an awful cough and just feeling pretty rough. But I put it down to a hideous cold, and didn’t think anything of it.
We went out on Friday night for Mr’s birthday on Sunday, we were going to go to the cinema, but because I was coughing so much we decided that a Chinese would be a better option, as it would be busier, louder and no one would hear me coughing throughout the film.
We had a lovely Chinese, it was nice to spend some time together, and to have a quiet meal without worrying about a little five-year old getting bored, or having to order food that just he liked. It is something that we don’t do enough off and was a really nice way to celebrate Mr’s birthday.
However I was tired, I had spent most the week up coughing each night, and I wasn’t getting as much sleep as I needed and it was really catching up on me. So we headed home early and had an early night.
And then the coughing started, which didn’t stop and lead to me being violently ill all night long.
Mr L and Baba were fantastic all weekend and let me stay in bed all day on Saturday and Sunday we managed to get out for a bit to enjoy Mr’s birthday but I still felt rough.
Sunday night was awful, I didn’t get any sleep, I spent all night coughing, and when I wasn’t coughing I was crying, because I was so so tired, and all I wanted was sleep and I couldn’t get any. I woke up after about 2 hours sleep on Monday morning dreading the day getting up with Baba and getting him ready for school seemed like the biggest task in the world, and for the first time ever I phoned Mr in tears.
I was ill, really ill and I needed him to come home and help me. I literally was not going to get through the day on my own and I needed him home. He was a star and came straight away, got Baba sorted and ready for school, took him to school and got me straight to the doctors.
They took one look at me and said that I had a chest infection, and gave me some antibiotics. All week I have been taking them, I am not coughing as much, but it is still there. I have spent at least three days laying on the sofa and not able to do anything else. All I can manage is sleep, I talk and lose my voice and I spend the majority of the day and evening coughing and basically just feeling pants. It does seem better, but it is still very strongly there, and I am not sure how long it will be before I am truly better, and it is annoying when there are so many other exciting Christmas related things that I could be doing instead!
But for a change I have had to really take a back seat and actually stop as there isn’t another option at the moment! So until I am better I have to just rest, take my tablets and try to get better before I get any worse.
