Gratitude Journal

A few months this gorgeous notebook landed through my letterbox that had been sent to me via a friend, just because she thought I would love it as it is Mary Poppins inspired.
She was totally right and I loved it from the first moment I saw it.
I knew I wanted it to be a special notebook and not one that just had lists and to do notes in!
It is far too perfect for that!

So it sat untouched for a while, before I could decide what to do with it.
Something I haven’t done for a long time is journalling. I have many journals over the years where I have written deep and dark feelings, the last year I sat and journalled regularly was when I was pregnant with Rhianna Lily, when she died and the rest of that year.
It is a harrowing read.
It is raw.
Heartfelt and full of pain.
And I actually associate those feelings with journalling now.
I love to write, but I have a fear of writing my deepest feelings down.
Because the last time I ever really did that was the worst year of our lives.
And it scares me!
But I love to journal.
So I decided to try a different tactic, again it is something I have done before but never really followed through, and that is a gratitude journal.
Instead of sitting down and focussing on the negative things I wanted to sit down and focus on the good instead.
I have been doing it for nearly a month now, I am for a minimum of three grateful things, but sometimes I add more.
It is about appreciating what I have, and what is around me and to remind me to be thankful!
And I am really enjoying it, and it feels so right to be using this notebook for it.
It is the right notebook for this project.
And I can’t wait to fill this whole book with thankful things.
Even just doing the gratitude for this little amount of time is making me be more positive in the general day to day activities that I doing, and I am hoping that this will only improve over time.
I am naturally a worrier and I am trying my hardest to combat this side of me and I am hoping focusing on the positive will help with my worrying side!
