38 And Counting
Today I started my 38th book of 2019.
Two years ago I was so upset at my lack of reading, that I decided to change things and make sure I read more, that I read every day!
I then changed the time I got up and made that my time for reading.
I get up an hour earlier than the boys in the week, I make their lunchboxes and Mr L makes me a coffee and I have a good half hour to read my coffee and read before the kids week up.
I do it every day of the school term.
In the holidays I wake before them and read, and at the weekends I read whenever Mr L drives somewhere.
I always have a book in my hand.
I love to read.
I stopped doing it and I had to break that habit as I hated not reading, I hated not being able to escape, not to experience the make belief and the factual sometimes things that I used to read.
It made me very miserable not reading a lot.
A bit like I feel when I don’t write, or don’t do any crafting.
I need to read.
But I wasn’t so I needed to change my life to make sure I managed to read!
And I did it.
It took some getting used to getting up an hour earlier each day.
But it has taught me a lot.
One I really want to get to 50 books this year! I don’t have long but I am going to try my goddamn hardest to achieve it.
How amazing would that be if in 2019 alone I read 50 books!
Two if I want something I can change anything to make it happen, I can do it, I have proved it. I wanted to read more, I have changed my life to read more. I have achieved it.
Three reading makes me so happy. I can read anything from romantic comedies, to biography’s, to mythical, to science fiction. To even a story about the Joker!
Give me a book I can read it.
Four I don’t like to read more than one book at a time, I never knew this until I tried to read something on the Kindle as well as from an actual book. I hated doing that. Now I make sure I have finished one before I start the other.
Five I love to read, I knew this before but I love it even more now I achieve it.
It brings me joy, it lets me escape this world that is hard, funny, crazy, sad and difficult at times and it is good for my mental health.
Six my love for reading has not been lost on the boys. Both will happily pick up a book and soak in every word and love the book from beginning to end.
I love that they love to read and can not wait to share our love for reading between us all.
Who knew such a simple act such as reading could make such a difference in your life!
