2019 The Year Of Books

In 2017 I barely read a book and it really depressed me.

In 2018 I made a promise to myself to read more books.

And I did I read 16 in 2018 and was super proud of myself.

So when we started 2019 I was determined to read at least a book a month.

I knew I could easily do it and I wanted to do it again!

But I went further than that this year!

Yesterday I started and this morning I finished my 50th book of 2019!

I am not really sure how it happened. I know the middle of November it occured to me that I could actually read 50 books in a year.

But until then it never entered my head before.

And you know what I am so so proud of myself (not all the books are pictured here, they are all listed in my bullet journal and some of them were on my Kindle and some I didn’t take a photo off) but 50 are on that list.

I have enjoyed each and every one of them, some really were a hard read, some where an amazing read and some were an emotional read. But they were all fantastic.

I don’t think I will hit that number regularly year on year but I know I can do it, and I know I have it in me to read a huge amount of books a year.

It’s amazing when you think about it.

All those books in one year.

And all I have really done is get up earlier to read in the mornings and read in the car if Mr L is driving and read a little more at night time.

Really also proving to me that I can change my ways and my habits!

If you want it you will adapt to get it!

This year I will once again be recording what I read and once again I am going for a book a month minimum, if I hit the 50 mark again I will be amazed, if I just hit 12 I will be happy.

But this year I may actually write a little blog about the books I read as reading is a huge part of my world and I think it should be included in here a bit more than it is.

So let’s see where 2020 takes me in the world of books and if you have any recommendations then please do let me know.
