Getting Out In Nature
Today we finally got to spend a bit of time outside.
With working, as Mr L and I are both still working, and home schooling the days are disappearing and to be honest at times the weather has been shocking too, so when we have gone out it has been quick and short.
However today the weather was good for a January day, we were organised and the boys both finished earlier in the day so we managed to get out for a good long walk.
And it was just what we needed.
Some time outside and the boys just having a chance to mooch and not to have to think about work or anything else for a while.

They got to run.
They got to walk.
They got to explore.

They didn’t have to think about computers, work, and the fact that mum was their guide in it all. (It’s not a good thing at times).
It was just time for them to be.
And it was needed.
I have been trying to do it more in the week since we started remote learning and it hasn’t always worked.
Today I am so pleased it did.
It has also meant that Boo especially this evening was tired, and bedtime was a lot easier.
He hasn’t been sleeping that great, none of us have really.
Our routine is all out of sync, and everything is all a bit out of place.
Unfortunately for all of us, the thing that seems to be affected the most is our sleep.
Which then leads to grumpy tired children and adults the next day.
So getting him out for a run was the best thing for him, getting some fresh air and tiring him out physically is something he really needs and something that really benefits him. It is something that he really enjoys.
Walking today we all had the space to be together but be on our own, space that we can’t always get at home, space that is really needed.
I think we all came back from the walk, refreshed and feeling calm and relaxed, it was definitely needed and something I am going to make sure we do every day.
