First Week Of Lockdown School

So the boys have finished their first week of lockdown school, they don’t go in on a Friday, and to be honest it hasn’t been as bad as I thought it would.

BB really has loved being back. He is a kid that likes his own company but doesn’t realise how much he does need others company and this week he has been a very different child.

Just being around a couple of his friends really has made the world of difference to him and he really has enjoyed being back into the routine of school.

Boo has taken longer to adjust, he has moaned about school a bit but he has gone in and once he is there he is enjoying it.

He definitely wanted to see some of his friends and he is enjoying being back with them.

And it is good for him as his sleep had become pretty erratic in lockdown and just being back at school a couple of days has got his sleep into a much better routine already.

So from that point of view it has been vital.

It has been super quiet at home.

But I have managed to get a few things done I am working massively on my photos trying to organise all my digital ones as they are very haphazard and have no organisation at all really.

I am also trying hard to think what to do with myself at the moment if I am honest.

I have felt a bit stuck recently and have been having a long look at what I am doing with my life, maybe it is the lockdown or being 40 next year, who knows but I feel like I need to do something I blogged about the other day and I have been spending a lot of time thinking about that and thinking what it is that I need or want or should do.

So I have been busy.

And actually it has been nice to sit and be quiet and not have to worry about school work or getting the boys motivated.

It has been nice to step totally away from teacher and be just mum again.

Provide the paddling pool after school, tidy up after them, make them a packed lunch and cook for them and just chill out with them.

It is something that even though I would say we have done in lockdown it has been hard to do as there is always the thought of the next school thing that you have to do in the back of your mind and it has been lovely to take that out of the equation for a while.

So all in all it has been a good first week back at a very strange school but one they seemed to have adapted to and enjoyed!

I am glad we waited as long as we did and I totally enjoyed all the time they were at home but I am glad, even though I had my reservations that they went back this week as well.

I think it was definitely time.

They had totally reached their limit!

And I think we timed it well for both of them!
