Chocolate Brownies

I know that I should be trying to loose weight, that I have over 4 stone to loose before I shall be comfortable.

But do you know what, Baba has been ill, Mr L is ill and Baba has his operation in two weeks. I am a little stressed and this week having Mr L at home being ill has made it worse. Trying to keep a two year old away from Daddy as Daddy is poorly is flaming difficult.

So I did what all amazing mums do I made Brownies.

Now before I go any further Mr L is allergic to nuts so we just didn’t add them in but obviously you can go ahead and add them!

INGREDIENTS:

150g Butter

300g Dark Chocolate

330g Firmly packed Brown Sugar

4 eggs, Beaten Lightly

150g Plain Flour

120g Soured Cream

60g Hazelnuts, (if you are using them, however lovely without them as well).

Ice Cream for serving.

METHOD:

Pre-heat the over to moderate and line base and sides of a large rectangle tin, with either baking paper or butter.

Melt the butter and chocolate in a medium saucepan over a low heat. Keep stirring until the chocolate is melted.

Transfer this mixture to a medium sized bowl. Add the sugar, and egg into the mixture, stir thoroughly.

Add sifted flour, sour cream and nuts in thoroughly.

Pour the mixture into the prepared pan.

Bake in the moderate oven for about 30mins. My fan oven had them cooked in about 20mins.

Cool in pan.

Cut into squares and serve with ice cream while warm.

These can be made up to two days ahead of when you want to eat them, and can be reheated before serving.

These Brownies are absolutely gorgeous, we have been munching on them all day. They are just so gorgeously yummy, and Baba gave them a thumbs up too and told Nanny that he loved Mummies cakes! These are something that I will be making again in the future. Easy and yummy! Brilliant!
