Boo – 6 Months Old

This week Boo turned 6 months old, it has been a crazy 6 months, learning to live with his reflux and this last month has been particularly hard. We have all been ill, including Boo. He’s battled his bronchitis and been hospitalised with croup and is currently on a course of antibiotics that seem to finally be making an improvement on his illness.

But it has been hard and tiring to be honest.

However Boo is such a character now, he has a cheeky personality.

He adores his brother and has started to seek him out, trying to touch him and hold his hand. When Baba is home Boo just wants to be close. He thinks the dogs are amazing and they can entertain him all day, he really is that easy to please.

He has a beautiful smile that he uses to charm every lady he sees.

This month his personality has really come out and there has been lots of changes.

He is nearly sitting up by himself.

We still have to surround him with cushions as he is a little wobbly but he is trying his hardest and all he wants to do is sit and watch the world go past.

He has learnt to roll over!

Boo has actually been a secret roller for a while for about a month now we have been waking up to him in different positions in his cot to where we put him! But it took him a long time to show us when he was awake.

My sister was commenting on Sunday that he will be rolling soon, and as soon as I got of the phone he did this. Within a day he was rolling completely over and back again, and nothing on the floor is safe anymore. It does not take him to scale the lounge and he loves to roll, and roll, and roll! He giggles and has a great time!

He has started on solids.

And he loves it.

He totally takes after his brother and father and seems to like everything that has been given to him. Mash potato is a firm favourite, he loves carrot, banana, apple and cranberry to name a few things. Yes we started a little early due to him having reflux, and being poorly he was loosing weight so the health visitor and myself thought it was best to get food introduced and Boo was more than ready to try it. His little face lights up for food and he bounces and gets very excited! It’s lovely to see.

However the cutest thing is that now that he can move a little, him and Baba are actually starting to play a little.

They roll around the floor chasing each other, and laughing, and squealing, and Boo moves his head around trying to find Baba, as he can move so much faster.

The room is filled with giggles and laughter and brothers playing.

Siblings having fun.

Baba laughing.

Boo giggling.

And its a sound we weren’t sure we would ever hear for a while

And it makes our hearts swell

The love they have

The joy they both give to each other is something that is beautiful to see

And wonderful to watch as it grows.

  • What a fabulous post – so lovely to see them playing together and having fun. I forgot they say to start solids at 6 mths now, it was 4 mths when Keagan was little! Hope all of you feel better and that the rest of 2014 is better for you. Take care my friend. Zo xx
