Big Bro is 12

And in a blink of an eye we have a 12 year old.

I am not really sure where the years have gone and how it happened.

But suddenly BB is 12.

His last year before he is a teenager.

And what a year it has been.

He has left primary, started secondary all in the middle of a pandemic and has as always just taken it all in his stride.

He is growing into such a lovely young man.

And we really couldn’t be prouder of him.

I have to admit I was really worried about his birthday it is the first time we have had a birthday in this crazy world in our house.

And I was concerned.

Birthdays we usually do big things, or at least have some friends to stay over or something.

None of that was possible so we had a very chilled day.

His friends dropped some presents round on the doorstep.

And we went out and had some breakfast in a local cafe and had a chilled day.

Later in the day we brought a snacky tea and hired a movie on amazon and chilled out watching that.

So a super chilled day but one that BB said he loved from start to finish.

And one that was really lovely even though it was very different to what it normally is.

It is all about making the best of the situation at the moment isn’t it.

I had a lot of tears the night before as I was so worried about whether it would be a good birthday or not, it really bothered me.

But luckily in the end all BB wanted was a day with us all chilling and just having us all around him and that was enough to make his birthday super special and that is what he got.

And I am really pleased he had a lovely day and really enjoyed it all.

Now I just need to get my head around having a 12 year old in the house, not sure how that happened or how I feel about it if I am totally honest!

It’s all a bit scary and so true what they say, they really do grow up too fast!
