Better Food Shopping
I am really conscious of what we buy in our house, how much packaging is being thrown away and how much food we actually waste.
Which can be a lot at different times.
I hate all packaging that comes with fruit and veg from the supermarkets and BB especially hates all the plastic that we throw away.
We attempted using a Veg Box, which was great but actually we ended up wasting a lot of the food as we didn’t eat everything in it and actually it wasn’t that flexible so it was really defeating the point of it.
We have used the Milkman for a while now, and this really works well for us. I don’t do a regular order, I order as and when we need it so it does mean that I have to mentally prepare for it everytime we need an order. But it seems to be working.

Over the last year or so we have also started buying some regular juice from the milkman and have used them for bread on the occasion when we have really been stuck.
We have regularly looked at their fruit and veg boxes but have never tried them, thinking that actually we may end up with more waste than what we are actually using.
But I am always on the look out for better ways to shop.
And recently locally we have had a few changes which means it is possible to shop in a better way.
We know get our eggs delivered to our door via a local egg farmer.

Eggs is something the boys absolutely love and we eat a lot of them in our house so this is a great resource for us and one that we will really use lots and lots.
We also finally once again have a fruit and veg shop in our local town.
One we can walk to and buy items as and when we need them.

This is a huge improvement, and I am hoping will really cut down with the food that we waste as we will only be buying what we need as and when we need it.
And no plastic packaging.
We used it for the first time at the weekend and the fruit and veg are lovely and tasty and we were impressed with the cost as well.
All are things that we will continue to use in the future. And hopefully all well help to reduce our waste and the amount of packaging we actually use in our house.
