Back To School

Yesterday Baba went back to school, after his mammoth 7 weeks of holidays.

He was so excited about going, he was excited about seeing all of his friends, but we had to explain that a few of them had gone to big school. But he seemed fine with it, he didn’t seem that bothered at all really and I was really impressed how unfazed about it all he was.

However yesterday I understood why he was so unfazed. Yesterday he told me that he was only going to preschool for one week and then he was off to big school, as Daddy had told him!

Cue confusion from me!!

It was finally worked out that Daddy told him that he had one more year at preschool and then big school and Baba was getting confused by saying it was one week! I tried to correct him, he seemed to get it, we hope that he gets it, I suppose we wont really know until next week if he starts to kick up because he should be at big school.

He went off happy and breezy telling all his preschool teachers what he had been up to over the holidays, and I came home and started to sort the house, and try to finally do the 7 weeks of cleaning and tidying that have needed to be done.

When I went to collect him he was full of it, but I could also see that he had hurt his face. I had to go in and sign the accident book twice as not only did Baba hurt himself once he managed to hurt himself twice. Firstly he fell on a scooter handle and secondly he fell over a mat! Both times both his doing, but he ended up with a cut eye and a cut lip. All in the space of one day at school.

He seemed fine though and it didn’t seem to affect the day that he had at school. He was lively when he came out, telling us all about his day, who he had played with, what he had made.

When he went before summer we could never get out of him what he had done in a day, the response we always got was “I’ve forgotten” so for him to come out of school like he did yesterday was fantastic. He seemed to really enjoy telling everyone what he had been up too which was lovely to hear.

So all in all it was a fantastic first day back at school, with the accidents and all. Lets hope for the rest of the days being the same for the rest of the year.
