Amazement
Baba like all children always amazes Mr L and I. He is constantly improving on things at the moment, imaginative play, talking, using pencils, counting, recognising letters everything seems to be moving at an exceptional fast rate and it is hard to remember everything that he does in to tell Mr L about when he gets home.
He has friends at school he tells us about his friends, one in particular that he plays Robot with, where he walks around swinging his arms like a robot and stamping his feet shouting “ROBOT, ROBOT, ROBOT.” They also jump around acting like rabbits shouting “BOING BOING” and go around barking like dogs. This seems to be what Baba tells us he does at school! Whether it is true who knows, but it seems to make him laugh.
He loves to draw at the moment and every day he wants to do something crafty, whether it is drawing, the chalkboard or play doh, we generally have a craft activity of some sort. His craft has changed he no longer just scribbles anyway any how he really tries to colour in the lines, and he attempts to draw things, recently we have had rainbows and little scribbles that are Mummy and Daddy. He constantly talks about the colours that he is using, not always getting them right but he is trying at least.
He counts constantly and we have noticed in the last few days that he can get up to 12 easily as he is walking down the stairs and doesn’t think you are listening, he has always had a love of counting but I have never realised that he took much notice of letters. Although yesterday he told Mr L that the first letter of his name was for his name. Mr L and I were both very impressed. It’s these little things that you don’t think he knows but he does! That always shock me.
Like a couple of weeks ago when he picked up his scissors and started to cut perfectly, he told me he learnt at school. I was really shocked and really impressed.
The way he plays makes me laugh everyday. His imagination is wild and so active, which is great it does have a downside. One that seems to be everywhere in our family, he just doesn’t switch off! He isn’t a problem as he generally stays in his bed at bedtime but you can hear him, singing, talking to himself and generally playing up there for ages before actually sleeping. Last week we got told that his wall was too heavy and too big so he couldn’t sleep! I don’t have a clue what he was thinking or planning to do!
He plays like actually plays with his toys now. Last week we had to put Iggle Piggle to bed as he was crying to much and was tired. He laid him in his bed, gave him is night light and gave Iggle Piggle a kiss and a cuddle. We then had to tiptoe down the stairs and not talk as Iggle Piggle was sleeping. About an hour later Baba could hear Iggle Piggle and he was awake. So off we went to get him and Baba proceeded to play with him for the rest of the afternoon, they played with the play doh and had a great time. Baba even tried to tell me that Iggle Piggle was hungry we got away with plastic food this time I am not sure whether we will get away with that for much longer! I have a vision of plates of food for all these toys and teddies!
I know I have said before that this point in Baba’s life is hard because he has some raging tantrums and he has been very violent in the past few weeks. But I also love this point of his life, he is so funny at times and he is just changing so much all the time and it is wonderful!
