Accordion Album Time Capsule
Today we did something different for the kids home learning.
I decided to get them doing one of my favourite hobbies and get them involved in some scrapbooking, something that never happens to be honest.
We made really simple accordion albums, the boys got fully involved in cutting the paper and folding and sticking it.
Then they answered a list of questions and we stuck them into the accordion books and they have been hidden, from them until 2030 when they can re open them and read the answers they wrote as an 11 and 6 year old.

The questions I chose where very simple.
Firstly they wrote down their full name, age, height, and shoe size.
Then we did 24 really simple questions, statements.
Favourite TV show, movie, food, drink, toy, book, song and celebrity.
We then wrote down the pets they own, their hobbies, and the clubs they do outside of school.
Then they answered who is the prime minister and looked up what the price of a pint of milk, loaf of bread, a chocolate bar and petrol is.
They wrote down their favourite holiday and their best family memories.
They included their friends, and their best friend.
They wrote about their bedrooms, although mine just wrote messy which is true!
They wrote down what we used to watch TV at home, and what their favourite computer game was.
Then they wrote some bits out for the future, where they wanted to go on holidays, where they wanted to live and what job they wanted to do.
It really was that simple.

I have left a page free in their accordion albums as I am going to include a letter in there from their dad and I that they don’t know about so they can get it out when they read it.
Just a little note about what they are like now, and what they really love and are in to.
When we have done that they will stay hidden away and they can get them out again in 2030 to have a read through and see all the things they thought 10 years before!
At the beginning of the activity they were a bit grumpy especially as we went out for a walk this morning before the rain hit, so they were having to work on a Friday afternoon.
But actually they both loved it and really enjoyed answering all the questions and both said it was a fun thing to do.
In fact Boo asked if he could do it again once we had finished as there wasn’t much writing!
On top of them loving it I was also able to do a bit of scrapbooking, which made it even better!
