What To Do When?…

You hate your house!

You don’t do what I have been doing for the last week, sit in a grump looking at the walls hoping that it will get better and cursing everything in the house.

I picked our house, I shouldn’t really complain.

And it is big enough for us all it is a great house that we really don’t need to move out of but it annoys the hell out of me.

There is one major flaw in our house.

The kitchen is huge!

Now some would say this is a good thing but I hate it.

Along with a huge kitchen we have a huge lounge. Which means just one thing our lounge is quite small. We have too many walls downstairs and to be totally honest it would work a lot better if the downstairs was made open plan. That is what I would like, that is what Mr L would like, but it can’t be done this year. Not with the wedding as well.

So we are left with a house that neither of us really likes, not downstairs anyway. Upstairs is fine, we have two big rooms, one small room and a huge loft room that has been converted. But downstairs is so wrong on so many levels.

We have tried moving the furniture around, and the hallway is now a useful space with Baba’s art room under the stairs. But it has been wrecked out there due to the dogs chewing and that being where they live, which is fine I can deal with that.

It is just the lounge and kitchen.

I have tried moving the furniture in both rooms. The kitchen I am restricted we have so many cupboards I can’t really move much around and with the unit and the rabbit hutch we are a bit stuck with where things can go.

We are a bit stuck and I am not totally sure what to do for the best.

I look at the rooms and want them different. If I am totally honest I want the walls knocked down now. I can’t though.

So between now and that moment I need to find something else as I hate the way the rooms currently are. But I need to get some inspiration to decide what to do with them.

The cupboards in the lounge we need, they store all the toys away. I would like to paint them I think they need to be painted as they are all different colours, but what to do for the best.

I need to score some magazines and try to work out the best way forward for both the rooms downstairs. Ones that wont cost a lot of money and ones that will make me laugh them again and that are easy to do.
