Understanding Your Emotions
This week has been tough emotionally, if you have been reading my blog you will know that I have struggled this week.
But actually it hasn’t just been me!
The boys are both struggling, Boo probably more than BB.
But both are not at their best.
BB is asking questions I can’t actually answer, like if he can go back to scho why can’t he see Nanny and Grandad, why can’t he see his cousins and aunties and uncles? It’s a logical question one that is annoying him and I can’t answer for him.
Boo is wanting to see his friends.
And is missing his extended family.
We have a lot of tears.
A lot of shouting.
And a lot of emotions running around the house.
They are finding it hard spending this amount of time with each other.
Computers and TV have become their friends and it isn’t always a good thing.
This week we need to work a lot on their emotional side I think.
Focus on how they are reacting to situations.
How they talk and behave to one another.
And how they really are feeling about everything that is happening at the moment.
Yes we are on half term and I am not going to make them do any school work because of that but we are going to do other things instead.
Things like working on their behaviour and their emotions a bit more.
I think this lockdown is affecting them now. It’s been a long time. Life is still not back to normal, and they want to see an end in sight as we all do and we can’t give them one. So I think some serious TLC is needed and that is what I am going to focus on this week.
Time doing fun things but things that give them a chance to get some good one to one time in.
Things that give them a chance to talk about how they are feeling and things that give them the chance to ask questions and express their emotions.
As I think it really is needed at the moment.
