Tropic Tuesday – Tamanu Healing Balm All In One Skin Saviour

We are a family that loves our Tamanu Healing Balm. We use it all the time, and it is the product that we all go to if we have an issue such as an insect bite, cut, bruise or burn.

The boys love it and will always reach for it if they need it for any reason.

It is called the magic cream in our house, because the boys literally think everything is better with a little Tamanu on it.

And they aren’t far off if I am totally honest.

Tamanu is an all in one saviour, it says so on the pot, and it is one of Tropic’s best selling products.

It is multipurpose, and I don’t think people realise how multipurpose this product is, or how much I truly mean it when I say every house should have a pot.

It is suitable for all skin types, from dry to oily, non sensitive to sensitive. It has no essential oils in so can be used on the young, the old and people who are pregnant.

It is multi award winning, including the baby awards, veggie awards and beauty award to name a few.

But it doesn’t end there, the list of ailments that you can use Tamanu Healing Balm on is huge, to name a few things it is effective on….

  • Irritated, inflamed or dry skin
  • Stretch marks
  • Scar, old and new (as long as open wound is healed over)
  • Insect bites, stings, midges, nettles
  • Scalds
  • Friction burns
  • Oven/Iron burns
  • Acne
  • Radiation burns
  • Piles
  • Tattoo healing
  • Bruises
  • Chicken Pox
  • Shingles
  • Lip Balm
  • Cuts and scrapes
  • Eczema
  • Psoriasis
  • Sun burn
  • Nappy rash
  • Cold sores
  • Cracked heels / hands
  • Rosacea
  • Hair removal, plucking, waxing, laser
  • Sore nipples, (jogging or breast feeding, but remove before feeding as does not taste nice)

(Obviously everyone reacts differently to things, for example within my family and customers Tamanu has been great on some peoples eczema, namely Boo’s and has not helped other peoples eczema.) But is a product that can be used for so many things, it is an amazing versatile product!

Tamanu Healing Balm is a lovely green balm, that looks thick and hard when you look at it in the pot. However when you use it, it is easily spreadable and glides on your skin as it goes to an oily consistency and actually a little bit goes a long long way.

It has a very unique smell, and I wont lie when I first smelt it I really did screw up my nose. It is a very unique smell that has been referred to as a healthy smell, a herbal smell and just a smell that people don’t like. However it is a smell you get used to, and now none of us ever really take much notice of the smell. It isn’t a smell that you no longer smell, but it is a smell that you no longer take any notice of.

What the balm does really does override the smell.

And the way it makes your skin feels really does make you not worry about the smell.

Tamanu Healing Balm, contains Blackcurrant Seed Oil, containing Antioxidant-rich blackcurrant extract and raspberry seed oil. Monoi Butter is blended with hydrating, soothing monoi, shea, capuacu and cocoa butters which thoroughly hydrate your skin and leave it feeling smooth and supple.

But the amazing ingredient of the Tamanu Healing Balm is the Tamanu Oil, also known as Green Gold. Tamanu Oil is a remedy trusted for centuries in the Polynesian islands. It has been found to be one of the most effective natural ingredients to promote the formation of new tissue, thereby accelerating skin healing and the growth of healthy skin. It is best known for nourishing the skin, for its antibacterial properties, and for its unsurpassed skin regenerating abilities.

This Tamanu Oil is also in Supergreens, and is great for your face health.

Tamanu Healing Balm, can be used all over your body from your face to your feet and is super easy to use.

When you need it you use it, on the area that you need to use it as often as you require.

It is really that simple.

You can buy the Tamanu Healing Balm for £32 for 60ml, and it really does last a long time, as such a little amount goes such a long way.

You can also buy a Mini Tamanu Balm for £16 for 20ml and this is a great size to have on you at all times in your bag, for those emergencies. I have found with two boys this is a lifesaver, when we are out.

I can not tell you how much I have used this product since we started our Tropic journey and we currently have three open at home. One large one that stays in the medicine box, one mini in the bathroom and one mini in my handbag! I really do use it that much.

Only yesterday Boo hurt himself on the skatepark, as he was trying to climb the ramps, rather than skate them, and instantly asked for the magic cream as he had scrapes on his elbows and he knows this balm will help to soothe the pain and help to make the scrapes better.
