Toilet Training #3
Now I know you are all getting a bit bored as this is the fourth maybe fifth post I have written about toilet training, but that is our life at the moment!
Yesterday was Baba’s second day at school in pants. He went on a school trip on Thursday but the pre school requested that he wear pull ups, which I did understand the reason why but was a little gutted as the last time we put pull ups on we went a bit backwards. I was also concerned that he was going straight back to school the next day and maybe a little thrown.
I have to admit there was a part of me that thought maybe I should just put him back into pull ups but I knew that that was really a silly idea. So instead I put some pants on about 11 pairs in his bag and four changes of clothes. And told him numerous times that he had to ask for a wee!
He was wet by the time that we got to school, which really filled me with confidence. But I didn’t show it I got him changed and sorted and took him into school telling them that he was back in pants and that he really needed to be reminded as he still wasn’t asking a lot!
Three hours later and I return to collect him and he was in different clothes, which I was expecting. But the teachers said that he had only had one accident just before I arrived, the other accident he was outside and ASKED for the toilet and just did not get there in time! Brilliant at least he asked, and that he had asked the other times he needed to go! I was so impressed, and really proud of him.
Later on in the afternoon we got invited to a friends and knowing she has a downstairs toilet I thought I would be brave and not take a potty. That Baba would just have to ask.
We were all out in her garden and Baba suddenly shouted that he “had dribbled” so we rushed to the toilet and success! He then said it again and he had a little accident, but he then said three times that he needed a wee, every time was a success. I was so pleased with him. He was an absolute star.
So today I think we are putting the potty up high so that he has to ask for it a bit more, then we shall gradually move it into the bathroom. Before now it has always been in the lounge, so I am hoping this will encourage him to ask a bit more. But I am so happy, he is doing so well.

He’s coming on really well! We’ve got the potty into the bathroom and now working on getting him on the toilet instead… Quite encouraged though – but it’s such a slow process!
It is isn’t it he still isn’t great in the car and just wees, but slowly but surely we will get there xx
