The Gallery – Inspirational People
This week’s theme for The Gallery is Inspirational People over at Sticky Fingers.
As soon as I saw the theme I knew that I had to post this picture!
This is my Nanny and I when I was a tiny little baby.
I was always close to my Nanny and always admired her. She was a strong lady, having only one child my mum, she really was the head of the family to me. As my Granddad passed away when I was 11 months. I really have no memories of him at all. So in my life it was all about my Nanny.
My Nanny was very determined, stubborn, ruthless at times, very precise, could be very argumentative, but at the same time was really loving, completely loyal to those who stood by her.
She was complex to say the least.
But I was also and still do admire her. She did a few crazy things, things that we have only just found out to be honest but everything she did in her adult life whether right or wrong was all for my mum. She didn’t make things easy for herself but she was a person that once decided she went through with it till the very end and didn’t complain about it.
Since she has passed away we have found a few bits of information about her that makes me really be in awe of her, some of the things she did she was so strong and I don’t think I would have been that strong at the age that she was! She is an inspiration to me, I only wish I can be that strong in lives difficult moments, like she was, and that my children and grandchildren respect me as much as we all respected and respect her still to this day.

what a lovely post, I love my Granparents I am so lucky to still have all 4 of them alive, and should try and spend more time with them xx
Oh very lucky I don’t remember my grandfathers at all both died when I was very young, but was very close to my Nan as we were her only grandchildren xx
